Just waiting to be delivered to us.....YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
You've been around MR long enough to know better than to post something like this. It's not simply 'waiting to be delivered to us'. It's the alpha version. There can be a very long wait between alpha and being 'delivered to us', not to mention mobile substrate needs to be updated to work with iOS 4.3. If it's not the whiners asking when it will be available, it's people jumping to conclusions that it's 'just waiting to be delivered to us.'

A little ducttape will fix it right up.

Seems like a pretty good choice. I didn't realize anything was beating the Vertexes, although it's been about a year since I went shopping. (The IBM's were always a little faster, but a lot more dollars as well.)

I am new to go and don't know much about it, but am interested in it.. what are good resources to check out to learn how to play? either online or at the library
The Sensei sight mentioned earlier appears to have some good beginner material. When I first started, I also read a few books... I forget the title, but the author was Janice Kim. Other than that, play, play, play and look at other people playing.

I agree a PM is more suitable and reckon I'll buy one within 12 months but as a cheaper alternative the Mini makes a great stop-gap.
You don't have to go straight from a mini to a PM. What about an iMac if you need more power? :)

Recently update, due to the 5pm delay touchwoods opening will revert back to normal hours on Friday morning, same protocol for queuing but of course it's going to be a long day for some. no word from the touchwood apple store as to how they will handle it to not disgruntle the other stores in the shopping centre, considering previous launches sold out and people moved on later in the day so we will see.if your going let me know and might see you there.

Thanks for the input.
So rmtoberman, what you're saying is you can get about 4 hours of playback after recording for an hour?
Does it come with an SD card then? I can't really tell from the Amazon listing.
Tried it in low light situations at all?

Since you went the clean install route, my guess would either be bad ram or a bad HD. I had an iMac that had all sorts of weird lock ups and other odd problems. Traced it down to the HD, replaced it, been fine since.
It's probably not a loose connection, but worth a shot, make sure everthing inside is connected fully, reseat the ram and such.
Would doing the Apple Hardware Test help determine problems? I know for a fact that everything is seated properly, as the system has not moved for over two weeks. Stuff doesn't just move on its own (or at least, I hope :D). But, does the Apple Hardware Test also check non-Apple RAM?

Okay, so I've restored the drive to one partition, but now when i try to download the window support software I get an error message telling me "the support software is not available".
Surely it's not usually this difficult?
Oh - that's been a bug that's been around since they allowed for direct download. For some reason it simply doesn't work. You have to use the software located on your Snow Leopard disk. (Or disk 1 of the grey disks you got with your computer). You do this from the Windows side after you install XP. Note that the most recent models do not support XP because the component manufacturers didn't release drivers.

OK, I just have to ask. What happened? Did you fry the other memory slot or do you just need another memory module? I just added a 512MB to my iBook and I have an extra 128MB one I don't need now...

http://www.macfixit.com/article.php?story=20050221082956959 had an article detailing how the trackpad vendor may have changed, and that the newer (1.5ghz +) PBs have slower trackpads, even when cranked up to the fastest setting.
I myself can notice the difference between the newer PBs and my old sony vaio trackpad. (The PB is much slower than I'd like).

A lot of the times if you don't properly drive a high impedance can, a lot of its sound won't be as tight and crisp as it should, so it's not just the volume output. I remember the first time I heard a high quality tube amp on a HD650 in a store, it was the first time it made a song I really know and like have a bass that sounded like an actual kick drum rather than a soft boom boom noise, I was pretty amazed.

Hi there,
I bought a 128gb ssd, which is totally fine for me since I store all the data that I don't need on the road on my external harddrive.
However, I would like to play some games every now and then, which leads me to the problem that I need Windows for that.
I managed to free up 30gb, but that's not enough for Windows 7 with a decent game.
Now I read online that it is possible to install BootCamp on an external HDD. How can I do that? There are so many different guides that say different things, I don't really understand them.

True, but it's because it seems like MB (I can never get the spelling right) just posts anything they sent. They seem to have gotten lucky on that one (if that's what you can call it :-)
But it's still a fun rumor. Although I would personally prefer their last rumor over it. (Dual G4s)

From the Apple.com Forums:
"OS X 10.3.6 says the following as one of it's improvements:
Improves ColorSync calibrating for Apple Cinema HD Display (23-inch DVI) displays."
A few reports in those forums say that indeed 10.3.6 did fix the pink tint problem for them.

It seems that we will have to wait for the official word from Apple. I hope that it isn't closed for good though.
